I'm new on soulseek and when i log into it I cannot get into the shared folder site to search and share music. I have tried clicking on the top left where the bird appears but nothing happens. I am using windows 8 and i have disabled my security settings but still nothing. Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks
Have new pc with Windows 7 and Soulseek’s latest version. A handful of seconds after logging in, the blue bird turns brown and I don’t get any search result or see any users’ shared folder and most, but strangely not all, of my downloads stop. I close the program and relaunch it, and the same happens. Peculiarly, the program won’t close, as it used to do until a few days ago, hitting the top right x button: I have to right-click on the Soulseek icon on the bottom bar to shut it off. The fact that in File Manager F5 or F9 don't update the subfolders may be a clue about what's wrong with the pc. Any help welcomed.
Could someone please enlighten me as to why soulseek has the Limit Download Speed option, im trying to get a few songs off a user and he limits the download to 1kbps, it takes literally 1 hour to download a single song. Im not saying this options should be removed, but they should establish a minimum, say 20kbps, which is a reasonable download speed so its doesnt take forever. This program is great, but is has so many ways for users to cheat on each other, like the 0-upload-slot hack and others. Thank you.
I am using the latest version of SoulseekQt (build 2015.6.12). Unfortunately, it does not recognize my share folder anymore - it never get scanned and seems to look empty to others. Deleting and re-entering the directory does not work.
Any suggestions?
hello soulseekers ,,, i just want to know if i could use 2 soulseek on my mac to know if the user has banned me or not ,, many times whenever i start downloading a folder from any user i get only 10% of the folder and then the user stop uploading for me i wait for days to know if there is any problems but there is nothing , so im thinking to get 2 soulseek app on my mac with different names !!
any other ideas please share it :)

Since upgrading to the latest build I regularly encounter brief speed drops in uploads and downloads. The connection and transfer is maintained and speeds picks up again before dropping and repeating the same. Connection to some users are completely maxed and fast as light in ul and dl. Modem ports are open with a firewall exception. No drops in torrent speeds for example.
I believe this is since SoulseekQt-2015-6-12.exe
Am I the only one? Clues?
I haven't been able to connect to soulseek for over 2 weeks now. Everyone on here just seems to ignore my messages and not help. I don't know what to do. I tried everything checked my firewall, I don't know how to port forward I can't get on the server. Could someone help?

I've been using SoulseekQT on several Macs for years. All these machines are updated to the latest stable os (10.11.1) and using the Aug 21 build. This build hasn't caused any problems until now. I have a new Mac Mini server with a secondary disk that has several partitions. One of these is an encrypted volume. Today I experienced two back to back kernel panics caused by SoulseekQT.
In both cases this message appeared just before the panic:

The volume in question was not mounted at the time of the incident. The only other factor I can think of is that the only shared folder was set to the same directory as the download directory (although I can't see how this would cause a kernel panic).
The volume UUID listed in the log entry is the same as the encrypted disk partition volume, but this volume was not mounted and nothing was configured that I can think of that would make SoulseekQT try to access that volume.
Yesterday and today I tried to open the SoulseekQt program from my computer (using Windows 10). It used to work always till a month ago when I used it for the last time. But now... it just doesn't react. I push on the logo to open, or used right mouse button "open", I reinstalled the program, still doesn't work.
Can anybody help?

I downloaded SoulseekQt and tried it for the first time. It worked as soon as I punched in my wanted username and password, but shortly after the first download I made, the program asked for my username and password. After a few failed login attempts with no success, I decided to register and log on to the Soulseek website. I tried to log on again to SoulseekQt only to be met once again with an error message. So, here I am. I decided too come to you guys because chances are, the majority of you have managed to get the program to actually do what it's supposed to do. Any help would be appreciated.

Was using soulseek and nothing else really and searched for an album and I got blue screen of death. Is soulseek harming my computer? It was pretty random too, I had just downloaded a file not long before and the next one crashed my computer.

I´ve installed Soulseek 2015-8-21 on my Imac with Mavericks and serious crashes in a row shutting down my Imac. After a while I formatted it from cero installing OSX 10.11 El Capitán, what is my surprise? Still crash and shutting down when I use Soulseek. Anyone has the same problem? How can I solve it?

I am Gabriel Benhur Schuck, I have 24 years and am visually impaired here
from Brazil.
Soul Seek met and decided to use it because I'm too picky, like
a lot of music and I love discovering new things.
I play keyboards since he was 5 years old and my musical taste is well
varied.
Like Pop, Rock, Jazz, Salsa, until volksmusik, which is what most
look.
The software is fantastic to find styles of music as well
specific.
However, lately it has problems that are preventing
viewing files of some users, as well as get the user info.
This started when I was using the QT version.
Suddenly, I could not see the files and folders from a
user from my list of users and commented to him chat about
that.
So he recommended me I installed the Soul Seek 157 NS13E, but the
problem seems to persist.
Note: This happens only with some users.
In the program options, I checked the port used to connect and, in tests
he accuses it is closed.
However, there is more to do.
I've been in the router page and released / forwarded the port, restarting the
client.
The strange thing is that even being possible to choose another port, he accuses
port closed, as if everything was closed.
I test with utorrent, where you can also choose the port and use
automatic port forwarding (UPMP). ... The port is open, indicating
not be problems with port forwarding.
Then, there's something wrong with the soul seek and it was not happening.
Already I reinstalled, installed again, including the two had installed ....
I uninstalled it and installed NS ...
Nothing worked.
I wonder what's going on?
When the soul seek is using the same port used by uTorrent (
45766) with activated UPMP, and when I use the program, the other is closed
so there is no conflict.
He was previously configured on port 20107, but the two accused door
closed.

So i just downloaded the new soulseekqt from the right side bar
i opened it an extracted the file to my desktop from there i double clicked and it opened fine
i was wondering does that mean its installed? or am i missing a step? i dont remember it being this easy to install something lol i havent used linux in forever.

I've run Soulseek for...ever. Only recently, and I mean within the last few weeks, PeerBlock has been getting CRUSHED by hundreds of requests PER SECOND by LDCOM - CoPeerRight Agency. I Googled them, and the variety of other IP ranges that are getting blocked. I can do literally anything else online and get no blocks at all. Within a few seconds of starting SoulseekQT, BAM, PeerBlock goes crazy to the point Soulseek jams up. I need to use Task Manager to kill it.
Anyone else having this problem? More importantly, does anyone have any theories on why or any fixes?
