Hello, first of all please excuse me if there is a specific thread for help where this question should go.
I recently bought a computer and returned to Soulseek after a long hiatus.
I recall being able to collapse the folders I'm downloading, to hide the individual files and show only the name of the folder in order to save space and view all of my downloads at once without scrolling.
Can anybody tell me how to do this, if it is still possible? I've fiddled around a ton but can't seem to figure it out.
Thanks in advance,
Sean Christ

My SoulseekQt is saying I am entering the wrong username/password which is the exact one I use on here. I got in trouble with my ISP a while back for sharing Mad Max, could they have blocked my connection?

Hi, I'm having some problems to change the email associated with my account.
When I try to do it, the following message appears: "The e-mail adress _ is already taken", but that's imposible because I'm the owner of that email account...
I have tried to introduce the new email and reset the password (maybe I did another account accidentally) but nothing happens.
Any idea??

Whenever I reboot my PC, I have to re-login to my Soulseek account within my Slsk client. This causes all of my downloads to disappear and I have to reset all of my folders and what not. Is this a known issue with a fix? I search on the forum but couldn't find anything. It's very frustrating.
Thanks.

i could have sworn i posted in here a few days ago with this issue.
i can login, search, chat, and download fine. but most of the time people tell me they cannot download from me. everything was working a few months ago. my shared files are straight off the root directory of my hard drive, which ive heard can cause problems, but it worked before. perhaps there is some security update with my OS? im up to date with the mac OS.
thx

Hello everybody, I write from Italy.
I've been using Soulseek and his Linux side (Nicotine+) since 2002 or so...now I find incredible that such an oldschool service is still alive and I thank the programmers and the community for that!
Anyway I have a big problem with port forwarding. I'm using a shared router and I don't have access to it. And this is since 7 years...so I cannot port forward! And this means that I cannot share my music, because nobody can access my files.
I don't think I am the only one with this trouble, so I ask: is port forwarding really necessary? Is there a way to get rid of it and let me and many other users access the complete Soulseek network, adding files and sharing as all the others?
And the last question is: port forwarding can be one of the reason why Soulseek is slowly loosing users? Now people are facing with services like Spotify and Youtube, the whole web has turned to a hyperfast machinery where the users must get content in no time.
Soulseek has the good old flavour of how internet was in the '90s, but the troubles that a user can experience while setting it up (as port forwarding) can keep new users going away from it.
Or am I wrong?
Thank you!

Hey, hope you can help me here. After a blue screen crash I lost all my settings, lists etc in SoulseekQT. I tried to restore it by using an older soulseek-client.dat but it does nothing but ignore it and create a new one. This file shouldn't be corrupted... If it turns out to be corrupted: Is there any way to restore some of the erased soulseek-client.dat files?
Thanks a million!
Cheers

I've been a long time SLSK user, but just recently moved to Win10 and SLSKQT. I've always had better luck with the old NS version, but it doesn't run on W10.
I can't get SLSK to connect, no matter what I do. It gives me the "socket error" message on startup. I believe I have port forwarding set up correctly.
I have a Linksys router and a wireless Linksys connection to the router. Can anyone give me a checklist as t owhat I should e looking for? I've searched the forums and read some articles, but nothing seems to work.
One question - do I need to reboot the router after changing the forwarded ports?
Thanks for any help...

Hi all,
(My apologies if this been discussed in a previous thread...)
I'm running “SoulseekQT build 2014.12.19” on Mac OS... I've just noticed that although my wishlist searches are still functioning, I can no longer view (nor edit) my wishlist.
- Can anyone recommend a way to rectify this?
- If not, can anyone tell me; if I update the version of Soulseek that I am currently running, will all my settings, lists etc. be carried over or will they be lost?
I really hope to avoid losing all the info and data accumulated....
Thanks in advance!

IP: 216.227.90.95 Port: 80/tcp CLOSED. Your router and/or Soulseek client needs to be configured correctly.
You may want to check this list of port forwarding guides for instructions specific to your router model.
Don't forget that you need to restart your client if you modify your listening port.
Given that... I have set a static IP following the guide and that even didn't work. I've tried random ports and that also hasn't worked. I'm not sure what else to do, I even uninstalled and reinstalled and still the same. I also noticed that my wishlist search results are the same, the first item in the list every time.
What is the correct listening port I should use or what else can I do to resolve this issue? Sorry for being so lack of information here, all these numbers and words and tasks are way out of my realm of knowledge so I could have broken something, I don't know.
All advice is appreciated!!!

Hello,
Currently using Linux with SoulseekQt build 2016-1-17-64bit
While my problem might only be exclusive to my setup... it is really annoying.
I am using gnome 3 desktop environment with multi-monitor display and usually the second monitor is positioned to the right. When using soulseek and I right click on any user whether in rooms or user list, or transfers - the submenu appears on the desktop of the second monitor rather than the monitor which soulseek is floating or maximized. The only remedy is to mirror the displays to keep the submenu from just appearing on the second monitor but rather it appears on both monitors because they are mirrored.
Sure wish I could sort this out.
Like sync the submenu with mouse cursor location while in multi-monitor mode while unmirrored.
The submenu appears in second display whether Soulseek is maximized or just floating and happens whether second monitor is positioned Left, Right, Above or Below.
I will try this same scenario while using a different Desktop Environment soon and post back. Currently the problem is with SoulseekQt in gnome 3 DE.

Hello.
Using SoulseekQt 2016.1.17 64bit Linux build.
Here is the scenario.
I have 2 of 2 slots used up.. and lets say there are 2 or more queued up for files.
Here is what happens when I open 1 additional slot; All of the queued up users start there downloads from me. What I noticed is... say the second queued is perhaps privileged and is granted a slot manually by me, but brings the rest of the queued users with them. I know it is a rare occurrence but it has increased cpu usage as more slots are used. At one time 20 slots were being used up and resource/process was running at ~15% CPU and bandwidth was only at around 500 kb/s UPLOAD.
I had to restart the client, and I guess those with the new client build resumed their transfers first and those with older clients perhaps queued up when they realized their transfer was aborted.
The reason I know one of the queued users was privileged is because I gifted them some hours before this occurrence. It happened a couple of times after that maybe with other privileged users queued up and later I granted just 1 additional slot.
Rare bug nonetheless.

My computer:
Win10, latest version of SoulSeekQT (2016.1.24).
I have configured both sharing folders (downloads and uploads). I've read the thread here -http://www.soulseekqt.net/news/node/1552
I dont know what to do. First of all I have no Diagnostics tab anywhere to see my logs.
Second I was able to download.. Now everything is aborting all the time no matter what I download. So frustrating. I've restarted SoulSeekQT, checked ports, etc - all seems to be working well. Any advice?
Thank you!

I have 2 PC running Soulseek on the same IP. The PC has no issues running windows 7 and soulseek the other windows 10 will not connect to server. I use the windows 10 PC always for my soulseek and have the last year with no issues and maybe once or twice I use the 7 PC. I have the same ports listed for both. It shows I'm logged in, yet you know where the days left button is, its still at 148 yet the other windows 7 PC is at 138. This is frustrating. I uninstalled the program and re installed still the same issue. I get the proverbial socket issue. Check login credentials. BUT I am log in.
Thanks for the help

I'm not surprised about PayPal. Since they and E-Bay split in 2, PayPal has been messing with everyone with even the slightest suspicious website/service. From health supplement stores (that really work, not that homeopathy BS) to I guess now P2P services.
I'm willing to give a little btc, who knows with the volatility of the 10 canadian dollars worth of btc I'm willing to give, it might be worth 50 dollars next month.
So if there's any way to do so, a sysop or admin or w/e can contact me.

So that´s basically it, i can see these users in the search box and i can browse their files, but the download just never starts, it just says 1,2,3 etc next to each song, and i know that´s the queue, but i donated and i (almost) never have to wait, espcially is there is 1 person in front of me. I manually forwarded my ports, everytime i click on check ports it always says they are both open, firewall is deactivated and i don´t have any antivirus program installed, so i don´t undertsand why it´s not working. Any ideas?

I can download just one file at a time...is there any option to increase that rate ??...I mean, can I configure soulseek, so it downloads 5 files at the same time ??
The speed I'm getting is really slow, and downloading just one at a time will take forever.
