I've been using QT for a month or two now, and all of a sudden today, my stupid anti-virus program throws a firewall notice up for Soulseek, and now I can't download. even after disabling the firewall for my whole computer, I still can't. I clicked on the Check Ports button and it says they're closed.
I don't know anything about ports and if that's the problem, but I haven't changed anything on there since I first used the program, and it's been fine every day up until today. how are they all of a sudden closed when I've never touched the parameters? if that is the problem, what am I supposed to change it to and where do I find that information?
oh, also Windows 7.

Hello, there is a user who I used to be friendly with who has contacted me under more than 10 names on soulseek either harassing me or spamming links both in my private messages and public rooms to my professional career's twitter and website (adult industry) and naturally, that kind of thing isn't something I'd like on slsk due to all the trolls. I have a HIGHLY detailed log with every single harassing message he's ever sent me from any and all of those accounts and was wondering if there was some way to IP ban this user? This person also has my personal details including name/phone etc and being in the adult industry with multiple stalkers who I've had to filme PPO's against in the past, I take this kind of thing very serious since people in my line of work are harassed, stalked and accosted far too often. I wouldn't really resort to this unless it was my last option and at this point, I've been harassed by this person so much that I feel it's my last resort. I have all the logs and someone told me to contact nir through here and ask for an IP ban because of how serious the issue has gotten. I would prefer not to post the logs publicly on the forum but would gladly send them to a moderator who requires the logs to do something about the problem. Thank you in advance.

Hi everyone;
I'm currently evaluating the sporadic file transfer errors with files bigger than 2GiB. Did any of you (and with what client/version) have had a full and successful transfer of files "big" files?
I tried a huge variety of file DL/UL (as sender and receiver) and really non worked or even start when bigger than 2GiB. Some big (16GB) files did start, but brake up when reaching a filesize minus multiples of 2GiB. thanks to the Admiral I'd plenty of time to test it.
I already tried Linux (32 + 64bit) and Windows (x86) with SLSK native and Nicotine+ (based on Linux64) and all showed the same problems with Files bigger 2GiB.
I created a file 2GiB minus 1 Byte (which works) and 2GiB plus 1 Bytes (which did not work (UL nor DL via user). I created files up to 32GiB+/- 1 Byte, but 2GiB was already the max. I'd not conclude why some bigger files start, but brake up (waiting-aborting, waiting-aborting,...). The (uploading) client shows "file not found" (share is of course updated before). Under cli Linux I get a message "file size <0 Byte" when DL a big file.
I checked different clients (feb+June 2015 releases), different Linux architectures and nicotine versions. So all shows a protocol (stack overflow) problem, and according to the cli message big files show a negative (<0Bytes) value. The filesystem (NTFS, ext4, btrfs) is never the limit.
As (C) Programmer I'm very interested and why it's (still) there?
Cheers
Sammy

Having used Soulseek QT for ages I suddenly find that all of my downloads keep aborting.
They flicker between aborted and Queued.
Occasionally one downloads but it seems to be really random.
I've tried to reinstall QT but often the set up aborts when I try to run it.
I still have Soulseek NT and that works.
I've removed AGV from my computer : no difference.
Is this something to do with windows 10?

Hi folks,
I've used SS for years, but recently reinstalled slsk157NS13c as I am more comfortable with its layout than SoulseekQt (sorry for offending anyone here).
However, now all I seem to get is 'Failed' for every file that I am attempting to download..........

Any ideas how to rectify?
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
Can anybody help me ?
I use soulseekqt2015.06.12
It seems there is a major bug when soulseekqt works with few space.
I think it should test left space on incoming downloads partition and :
_ either stop all downloads at a reasonable value of disk space left (200 Mo). And then save the last .dat file.
_ either make saves of .dat file more often when there is few space left.
I went to sleep one night and let it download.
In the morning i found 0 Mo of disk space left. I stopped soulseekqt using quit function. And stopped the computer.
After restarting computer, i made space available.
On restarting soulseekqt, it asked me for password...?
First search on google that lead to seek .dat files. I found them and copied the newest one.
Second search on google that lead to think that the 3 .dat file were corrupt because soulseek didn't use them.
Worse, at each try of stopping soulseek and then restarting it, it was creating new .dat files and deleting the old ones.
They are lost.
I've only got the one i copied (the newest before crash), how can i try to restore it ? (i already tried to rename it with .scd---> not working).
How can i check if .dat file is really corrupted ?
Any help for that please.
Best regards

Hello,
My soulseekqt had problem and lost my password.
I don't know the password.
I used reset function on your website.
It told me that it is ok "changes saved".
but soulseek doesn't accept the password.

Hello,
Just a quick q - where are the system files (user list, download queue etc.) stored on MacOS X?
I've done some digging, older threads on the board suggest it's ~/.Soulseek, but when I try and go there through Finder, it tells me such folder doesn't exist.
Many thanks!

Every time I open soulseek I get this error: Login failed. The password you supplied does not match your username. Please change your login settings in the Options tab and try reconnecting.
Within the application, I am unable to enter a new username/password or change the username. What do I do?

I was using SS on a laptop that no longer boots due to a sick drive. I have managed to save data from the drive and would like to reuse my old info. Is this possible?
Also, I have no idea if this is a thing, but I seem to have lost the folder I was downloading music into. I assume I stupidly deleted it or something. Anyone have any other ideas?
cheers

I wouldn't like to double any topic. But since yesterday my soulseek (2015.6.12) doesn't download. Everything is aborted. And if I check ports I have the message: IP: [my ip] Port: 59321/tcp CLOSED. Your router and/or Soulseek client needs to be configured correctly. Any help with configuration?
Thanks in advance.

Hi all, LOOOONG time user of the NS, but had a bad run with QT when it first started. Just wondering what the main differences are?
NS always brings back great results, never crashes, always get what I require. Seems lots of people still use it.
Thanks.

Greetings.
I've had this bug plaque me for many, many months now. Whenever I try to set a different limit to the "amount of queued uploads per user", it keeps defaulting back to 1000 every time I close the program.
I was using QT 2015.2.12 (or something similiar, can't remember exactly) up until today where I noticed it was fairly outdated. I installed the newest 2015.6.12 (for windows) thinking that this bug may have been patched with a new release; I was wrong.
Anybody else have this problem? It's not often that I need to use this feature but a lot of people don't listen to "only one or two albums at a time please" and just queue whatever (and im not always at the PC to police this).
Thanks for reading!

What's the difference between the queue number being in black numbers rather than blue numbers?

Since I reinstalled Windows 7 a few days I haven't had one person download anything from me, before then I used to have at least 6 people downloading an album from me once a day. When I click on 'check ports' it says that they are open which is confusing. I have tried to view my files on another computer with a different Soulseek account with no avail
I am able to download and search without any trouble if that makes any difference in the quest to help me
Any help will be appreciated, thanks. I love Soulseek so much and I feel bad that I am not contributing
