The other day my friend and I had a discussion. In his opinion Qt (at start or restart) automatically performs a rescan of the shared folders. In my opinion it doesn't.
We both did some tests. We added an album to the shared folder en restarted Qt. When we browsed our own shared folder(s), in his list the change was added, in mine it wasn't.
After some new tests and also consulting user MELERIX, we came to the next conclusion:
At start Qt indexes the files in the background. As my friend only has a few shared files (about 42.000), the changes were immediately seen in his rebrowsed list. I have a lot more (about 165.000) and maybe I had to wait longer before rebrowsing my list and see the changes.
Can you give a reaction on this issue please, Thanks a lot.

Hi,
I used to see my download speeds, but I'm only seeing my upload speeds. I've searched around the internet, but can't seem to find a solution. Is this something that has been changed recently or can I change the tabs that I see (cf. Winamp for example)?

On launching SLSK the page display exceeds the Macbook pro screen - tried reset and reinstalling application but nothing has worked any similar experience and fix?

I know this must have been asked a few times but I can't seem to find the solution anywhere on the forums or the internet. I've been using soulseek for years without any problems and all of a sudden I cannot connect to the server (1 pc W7 and 2nd pc W8). Both pc's were connecting without issues until last week. I thought it was a temporary server problem but it's been going on for two weeks and after asking some friends about it they all said they could connect without any issues so I don't know what's going on with my connection.
The message I get is: Can't connect to the server, if your internet connection is up.........
My connection of course is up, ports are open (soulseek itself says they are) but I cannot connect. I've tried uninstalling and installing, both SoulseekNS and QT, none works, QT seems ok but is always read and searches return nothing at all.
Please if anyone can help I'd very much appreciate it.

Just wondering.. Can you get banned for only downloading but not sharing anything?
There's this user who has a song I want to d/l but all of his files are locked/private. I've messaged him multiple times throughout the week and gave him plenty of time to respond but it's seems to me that he's just ignoring me. I've offered him some stuff to trade, asked if there's anything he's looking for, etc.. but no response. Then when I clicked on view user files, I see that he has thousands of files that are locked in a folder titled, "Soulseek Downloaded".. the only files not locked are in a folder he has titled, "Soulseek Downloading".. it's like he's just downloading stuff and locking it.. seriously wtf.
Let me know what's good.

I have marked the option "Immediately upload files smaller than '100' kilobytes". In my upload window I can see that small files such as cover.jpg (part of a complete CD) are immediately transfered, even when it isn't this users turn.
So far so good.
My question is: If this user has marked the option "Don't create subfolders for single files", what happens than. In my opinion the single file (cover.jpg) won't be stored in the folder named after the complete CD that's uploaded when it's this users turn. So the CD and the cover are separated.
Am I right ?

I still use Soulseek NS so i copied over my wishlist.cfg file to this computer and im wondering where i should put it so it shows up in my Soulseek?

Hi there,
i am using SoulseekQt build 2014.8.31 and i am wondering how that finish upload and quit thing works. If i put it to the state [on] it still does not quit the program after finishing the uploads. There are no downloads/uploads running. Is there a known problem with that feature? Would be nice be if i could shut down my pc, too :)

I noticed today when launching Soulseek that it hangs at launch. The icon appears in the taskbar, but I can't transfer focus to the app. Mousing over the icon gives me the build and my username. Waiting ~20 minutes did not resolve the issue.
I upgraded from an earlier version (~2013-05-XX) to 2014-08-31, and this did not fix it. I also tried deleting %APPDATA%/Local/SoulseekQt on a reinstall, but this did not fix it either. Interestingly, even after deleting this directory, my Soulseek username still appears in the taskbar.
Windows 7, x64.
Any ideas?

I recently bought a new computer that has Windows 7 installed on it. I previously used Windows 8. My upload speeds have been significantly slower the last few weeks. My connection maxes out at around 1400 Kbs (11 Mbps) of upload speed. I've not seen it use more than 800-900 Kbs the last few weeks, even with 10 upload slots. I have seen a few individual users download at over 300 Kbs, but the average is around 100 Kbs. It wouldn't have been uncommon to see users download at over 600 Kbs in the past. The amount of bandwidth I have been using has basically been cut in half.
1) My bandwidth appears to be at normal levels when testing at speedtest.net and other sites.
2) I've tried the 11-01 and earlier builds of Qt and NS, but it has no impact on the speed.
3) I've tried different listening and server ports. Windows firewall has been enabled/disabled.
4) The network adapter is a Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. I have disabled the Large Send Offload and it has no noticeable impact.
My upload speeds are still pretty good, but they are nowhere close to using my full amount of bandwidth.
Have there been any server side changes that would impact the amount of bandwidth being requested by other clients? I have noticed other users in rooms that used to have similar speed averages have lower numbers the last few weeks as well.
Are there any other Windows 7 or hard drive/USB settings that I can change to fully utilize my upload speeds?

Hi,
I really would love to use soulseak.
The qt thing is just not working out for me and my screan reader. I can actually download with it but can not share anything and don't have sighted assistance.
What are the shortcut keys for soulseek ns?
when I go on it I have the transfers tab and web tab. nothing about searching1 and there is nothing in the menues about searching either.
please help!

Hello Nir,
Could we perhaps get a scrolling through open Chat/Search/Wishlist tabs? Either a scrollbar or some arrows that would allow to switch between what's visible. Right now, on OS X, when there are too many tabs open, there really is no way to easily navigate between respective tabs. As an example:

The last tab on the right is truncated, and there are several others that are out of view and that I can only navigate between sliding my fingers through a Trackpad apparently. Some sort of a visual cue, buttons, whatever, would be greatly appreciated, however.
If that would be possible, it would be absolutely fantastic - and such a great relief.

Hi,
A couple days ago, all slsk users I try to download from appear to be offline. Even if I search and download freshly, the all users say offline and the files are queued.
I am not sure what happen? any thought?

Whenever I rescan my shares it says 88 files removed. If I immediately rescan again it will say 0 files added, 88 files removed. It does this repeatedly and consistently. It's not really a problem but any idea what's going on?
EDIT: This is not happening consistently - the other day it was 110 removed every time, and now it is 0 (as it should be).

Hello, each time I quit Soulseek a new log file is generated in my user folder. After a few times, the directory is basically full of files like “.Soulseek.1417360359307”. How can I avoid this?

I uninstalled Soulseek to upgrade to a newer version and install the new version found several problems and one of them not connected to the server and warned of the login be wrong. Then replace the complete login and password several times and did not solve anything. Thus dissatisfied I uninstalled the program and tried to go back to the old previously worked correctly and always connected without ever having difficulties. Now I have the previous version installed but not connected in any way to the server and worried a big problem with the door I realized a check through the program and consisted they are configured correctly and open. What's this? Will I no longer be able to use Soulseek and have to disclose that the program does not pay? Ask someone for help! I'm from Brazil and here we have a lot of help with this program! Thank you!

If I queue a folder from someone that includes a text file everything else downloads fine but the text file stays Queued forever. Image files less than 100k download fine, so there's no obvious connection with the 'immediately upload files smaller than...' option on their end, unless they've changed the size which I imagine few people do.
