Password Issues

$

Hello,

I was using a previous version of soulseek when all of a sudden it began telling me my password was incorrect. I had not changed it. When I attempted to recover it, I was told that user name or email did not exist in the database

I went to the site and re created my account, but still, I cannot login. I download QT and I have the same issues.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Soulseek freezes my PC

Hi, I got a problem. Whenever I start Soulseek, it freezes my audio players (they just stop playing the music, like if it has paused) and when I try to open any folder, my file explorer freezes too. At first I thought that sharing my music library caused this, but this time I didn't set up the file sharing and still the same. I even formatted and still got the same problem. Help!

Thanks! (Sorry for my english)

OS X tray/dock icon animations

$

Hi All,

I remember that, in the past, the OS X version used to flash certain animations in the dock icon, upon someone messaging me or me successfully browsing someone. It doesn't seem to be the case with the latest version, however - regardless of what I do, the dock icon seems to be completely static and no animations ever happen. Unless I'm doing it wrong entirely and something needs to be turned on somewhere?

I would appreciate some advice. Many thanks!

Kind regards,

Port question

A bit random, but what do the following do:

[ ] Use UPnP Port Mapping
[ ] Use NAT-PMP Port Mapping?

According to http://tools.slsknet.org/porttest.php my SoulSeek is configured correctly, I have UPnP on and NAT-PMP off. What would be the advised setting, however?

Any advice would be really greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Has happened a couple of times the last week, that an interruption in my cable BB causes the client to crash with a C++ error message.
I'll trap the error next time it happens.

ok, i have my account for some time now but only started using it a lot lately. i'm sorry if i sound stupid heh but yeah, i want to start sharing stuff but i really don't know what to. i mean, all i have to share is already being shared and i don't know if that counts as sharing? i really don't have anything new/unique/exclusive

I can't share anything... and I don't know why

I've checked listening ports and were open; then, I've changed listening ports, then port-forwarded in my router, checked again... everything seems ok, but when I try to browse my own files it appears only the main folder, just empty. I don't understand. Tried also deactivating firewall but it was the same. Please, can someone help me?

New user questions

Hello:

I just registered on SoulSeek, having had the site recommended to me by someone on You Tube. In the Download section I see nothing about users who have a Windows 7 operating system, only Windows 8, MAC, and Linux users. Will SoulSeek work okay with Windows 7?

Secondly, is SoulSeek a torrents client or a trackers site that works with a torrents client?

Thank you.

Download list gone post-crash

Hi there
I have been using Soulseek version 157 NS 13e for as long as I can remember, and my computer has been crashing at random intervals for a good part of that time, however the last time it happened my entire download list was gone when I restarted SS. I am still logged in and my userlist is there but all the files I had queued have evaporated. Is there any way to fix this (pretty please)?

Cheers

HOWTO: transfer Soulseek data across computers

$

Like it says in the title, I just bought a new laptop and would like to recover my wishlist/userlist/queue etc. from previous computer. I was using NS, and probably would like to stick to that as layout of Qt doesn't tickle me right, but willing to make the jump if that's the cost.

Anyone got a clue?

Thanks

lost my support days and cant login again

i lost all my support days that i paid paypal i had 188 or so left and cant login any longer, getting socket errors. please help, this is my second attempt at creating an incident issue.

I have a (possibly stupid) Question!

$

So here's my situation- I'm running Mac OS X (10.6.8) on an old-ish Macbook Pro. I'm not in a position at the present moment to update my OS. I'm also running Soulseek QT build 8/5/2012, which has worked pretty well, up until recently.

So here's the question(s):

Is there somewhere that I can download a more recent version of Soulseek, but not the most recent? (It's not compatible with my OS ATM)

And if so- do I need to do anything to backup my queue or preferences, or will they automatically carry over with an update?

So, I know these are probably newbie questions. I apologize, I'm not very tech-savy. Any help/guidance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks Folks.

I've had soulseek for about a week, and every time i open it, it will stay open long enough for me to download 1 or 2 tunes, then just closes itself. Then wont reopen at all unless i log in and log back out. at first i thought it was because I had AVg but i've uninstalled it and still get the same problem.

Socket Error

Hi

I have been using this awesome programme for years and this is the first time I have ever had an error, so congrats and thank you for such awesome software. I wonder if you can help me with this problem. We had some issues with internet access so had to change our passwords etc, and since then, I have not been able to log in to Soulseek. The one computer gives me the error - username and password dont match, and my laptop tells me there is a socket error that needs me to adjust my login settings under options. I have reinstalled multiple times, and deleted all appdata etc. I have tried logging in with a new name, but not sure if i have to register that name as a new name somewhere. I have also tried changing firewall settings etc, and nothing seems to work.

Please help me.

Thanks

Michael

SlskNS on Win 7 is invisible

$

Hi, maybe someone can help me with this? I run Soulseek NS on a Windows 7 PC. After my last PC restart I started Soulseek, but it never showed up.

The logo is visible in the task bar in my hidden icons, and when I use a right click on it (Open Soulseek), nothing happens. I can connect and disconnect the same way, but I never get to see the screen. Also, when "active", Soulseek shows up in the taskbar a s an active program, but when I click on it, the logo just disappears.

The Windows Task Manager show slsk.exe as running, using about 18,000k of memory, alas I can't get it on my screen at all. An earlier entry here on the forum recommended (for Slsk QT though)to look for a soulseek-client.dat - and I can't locate one at all, neither in c:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local nor in c:\ProgramData (where my Slsk config folder is). BUT, that was for Slsk QT though...: http://www.soulseekqt.net/news/node/500

What can I do? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
