After restarting my computer, I just started up Slsk the same way I always do. This time it asked me for my user ID and password. I entered them, went in, and . . . everything's GONE. My user list, user notes, my own user info, my shared files--EVERYTHING. Now I'm going to have to rebuild it all from scratch (and a good bit of it from memory). What the HELL?! Why would it just knock all of my info out like that? Has this happened to anyone else?
My soulseek application seems to close whenever I open it. It can run while I'm disconnected from the network, but after I connect, it closes after a few seconds. It would previously crash whenever someone would dl a file off me but now it just closes without any errors. Procmon says that it exits with error code INT_MIN/4.

My Ubuntu-Version is still 14.04 but I want to upgrade to 16.04. Will there come up a SLSK-version for this new OS-Version? Or can I use the SLSK 2016-1-17 for Ubuntu 16.04 as well?
Let me also ask if a compatibility with IPv6 is planned. Sooner or later IPv4 will be history.

I have been using Soulseek for years, but first time I have this problem.
I had the username "Volmineux" for years. But last week, I could not login for a week. I downloaded the last Slsk version but nothing helped.
At first when I was connecting, nothing was happening (no message) but the soulseek bird was remaining in brown colour (sometimes it was turning blue but not for long and I could not enter a room for instance).
So I decided this morning, to create another login, now my username is "Cha Er Fang".
I then launched Soulseek and to my good surprise, I was connected, could enter rooms, and could see other users online (in my user list), I even could browse user's files.
Unfortunately it was only possible 5 minutes.
Now, again same problem. Can't login, and now I have this message:
Login failed. Reported failure reason: socket error. Please change your login settings in the Options tab and try reconnecting.
Anyone willing to help? Would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance.
I usually delete the music files after I put them in itunes, because otherwise I have two copies of everything. Tonight I noticed there were still a bunch of empty files with the album names I've downloaded, so I got rid of those too to make space.
I must have deleted something important, because now when I right click a file and click "open file" or "open folder," nothing at all happens. I tried deleting Soulseek and downloading it again, but I have the same problem (and I'm not sure it worked right, because I still had the files in "transfer" that I downloaded before all this happens).
So, when I click "open file/folder"--nothing!! This is a disaster!!! What can I do?
Hey, I haven't used the forum before but I've been on SLSK since 2001. Always my must have software, yet I never told many about it because I didn't want to ruin it and have a crazy amount of people on it... Anyway.
That being said, I have a lot of problems with the QT version. In fact, I say the older version is far superior to this one in many ways. Here's some things that are problematic for me at least:
The interface is literally all over the place. I go to options, but some of the more important options are just a button their self up top!?
Cannot sort the search list by anything, the columns literally do nothing at all...
Downloading songs in a folder downloads a whole folder sometimes
Downloading single songs creates a folder with the same name they came from
There are other little bugs, but nothing that can't be tolerated, however the ones I listed make it extremely tedious to use. I have to brace myself before using the software at times. I hope the team looks into consideration for these tweaks.
